Nutrition Students Win University Cheering Squad Competition with Food-themed Performance

Video footage taken on May 19 at Mukogawa Women’s University in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, shows students belonging to the department of food sciences and nutrition putting on a precisely choreographed food-themed performance to win the school’s annual cheering squad competition. Dressed in black jackets that snap open and colorful arm covers, the team of about 50 took to a multi-tiered dais to form quick-changing patterns depicting a heart, “takenoko” bamboo shoots and other food-related imagery. It was the third victory in a row for nutrition department students in the contest that began half a century ago.
