Senate Intelligence leaders press exchange at Russia investigation update
Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr of North Carolina tells reporters that he is very confident of the accuracy of an intelligence community assessment ordered by President Obama into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, that the congressional committees have their own jurisdictional lanes and the special counsel is focused on criminal acts, which the committees are not. Burr says that the special counsel is the first they call on finding potential criminality and that conducting a press briefing about the progress of the committee makes no assumptions that it in any way, shape or form fully encapsulates what the final report will say.
