SEVENOAKS, ENGLAND - MAY 30: (SLOW-MO) Poppies begin to bloom in the corner of a fallow field on May 30, 2024 near Sevenoaks, England. Poppies tend to occur in fallow fields and their margins around June and can have laid dormant for many years until old seed banks are disturbed. Poppies are used in Britain and many other countries as a symbol to commemorate those who died in military service, and have been associated with war since at least the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.
