Indian Navy Week celebrations In Kolkata, India
Naval officers are standing on INS Savitri during the Navy Week celebrations at the Khidderpore Docks in Kolkata, India, on November 24, 2024. INS Savitri, an offshore patrol vessel, is the fourth of its class, commissioned on November 20, 1990, by the then Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Krishan Kant. This is the first ship of the Sukanya class that is indigenously made. Since then, the ship is achieving many milestones and is always keeping the flag of Poorvi Bheda and the Indian Navy soaring high. INS Savitri is open to the public during the three-day-long celebration starting from Sunday. (Footage by Rupak De Chowdhury/NurPhoto via Getty Images)
