Cathy McMorris Rodgers press statement on school safety legislation

House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers says at a weekly press briefing that the people's House was acting to improve school safety, it is important that following a tragedy to sit down and listen to one another, she had a shooting in her district at Freeman High School, knowing it is important to bring school superintendents, law enforcement, and community leaders together because the goal is to make sure every child has a chance to learn, make friends and pursue their passion in a school that is safe, crediting Congressman John Rutherford for leading an effort to make sure schools are equipped to prevent, recognize and respond to signs of violence.
