PARIS, FRANCE - MARCH 16: "Barbie, Life of an Icon", an exhibition at the museum of Les Arts Decoratifs in Paris, celebrates the doll's evolution since first launching in 1959 through 700 models , the all-time best-selling product of US toymaker Mattel in Paris, France on March 16, 2016. Nearly six decades ago, American inventor Ruth Handler chose the New York Toy Fair to unveil a teenage fashion model from a small town in Wisconsin, named Barbie. Now, Barbie is in Paris to celebrate her 57th birthday and reveal a life story which shows how much the icon has changed throughout years. 'Barbie, Life of an Icon', an exhibition at the museum of Les Arts Decoratifs in Paris, celebrates the doll's 700-model evolution since first launching in 1959, becoming the all-time best-selling product of U.S. toymaker Mattel. Press spoke to Haile Lidow, a 20-year-old recent fashion graduate from New York. She came to Paris to work at the fashion week.
