Wrocaws dwarfs
Wroclaw, Poland - July 8; 2019: A bronze dwarf statue, a symbol of the resistance against the communist regime on July 8, 2016 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Wrocaw dwarves form a set of small figurines representing gnomes, usually bronze, placed in the streets of Wrocaw since 2001. Their numbers have increased, and now, they undoubtedly form one of the most reputed popular attractions in the city. Those who like to combine their sightseeing tours in Wroclaw "Hunting for dwarfs" are offered special brochures with a map and mobile application software for smartphones. The number of dwarves on the streets is not fixed, new ones appear every year, some of them are stolen or vandalized despite the protection of the local authorities. In 2015, there were more than 350 dwarves. Here is 'WrocLovek' from Beata ZwolaskaHood. (Photo by Thierry Monasse/Getty Images)
