Novelist Jean Vautrin In Paris
Under the name of Jean Herman, Jean Vautrin directed films, including Adieu l'Ami (Farewell to a Friend) in 1967 and wrote the screenplay for Claude Miller's Garde a Vue in 1981. But he is most prominently a novelist and was awarded the French Goncourt Literary Prize for Un Grand Pas vers le Bon Dieu (One Big Step Closer to God) in 1989. He has specialized in thriller and action novels, especially the series Les Aventures de Boro (The Adventures of Boro), which he has written with literary partner Dan Franck since 1989.
