Race Car Driver After Crash
(Original Caption) (Sneva) Indianapolis: Tom Sneva, the 26-year-old ex-high school principal from Spokane, Wash., who injured in a spectacular flaming crash during 5/25 500-mile race, manages a smile as he recuperates in hospital 5/27. Special salve to heal the burns covers much of his face. Sneva says the accident--which happened on the 127th lap when he was running fifth--hasn't discouraged him from the sport, and he plans to be back at the wheel soon. He says he doesn't recall much of the crash when he tangled with another car, but adds "It's good to be here."
