Nurse Sterilizing Operating Instruments

(Original Caption) Today in America, and the lands beyond the seas, are proud to admit that more and more of their young girls are taking up the profession of nursing. Girls upon leaving high school from all walks of life enter the various hospitals to study, and graduate, as a registered nurse. Here is a student nurse sterilizing instruments, her white uniform looks like a graduate nurse, but her blue waist is covered by the full length apron that everybody must wear in the operating room. The instruments are sterilized only after they have been thoroughly scrubbed. The scissor-like tongs are long because of the great heat of the sterilizer.
