The five remaining survivors of the frigate 'Cospatrick' catch sight of their rescue ship 'British Sceptre', ten days after their vessel caught fire off the Cape of Good Hope, 27th November 1874. Of the 472 people on board the 'Cospatrick', they are the only ones left alive, and have been reduced to cannibalism during their voyage.
