Officials Observing Demonstration of Instruction Terminal

(Original Caption) A student at Public School 244 in Brooklyn operates an instructional terminal (teaching machine) that has a keyboard resembling an electronic typewriter. The machine, part of a computer system which was built and installed by the Radio Corporation of America, was put into use here today during a demonstration. A central computer will be installed in Manhattan but until it is, this school and fifteen other public schools in Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx will have their communication units linked by telephone to an R.C.A.computer in Palto Alto, California.
