FRANCE-ANIMALS-DEER-CHAMBORD
A scientist holds a deer's leg after it was captured using a technique called "panneautage" in the National Park of Chambord on February 13, 2018.
"Panneautage", in which nets are stretched around an area to enclose the animals, is used during the scientific mission to count and study the deer in their natural biotope. A team of forest rangers and wildlife experts, experienced in "panneautage" techniques, have collected and maintained data on the deer for decades. / AFP PHOTO / GUILLAUME SOUVANT (Photo credit should read GUILLAUME SOUVANT/AFP via Getty Images)
