Radar Room
(Original Caption) 08/09/1945. Radar, called the silent weapon of World War II & credited with helping to "Light the Road" to victory, owes much of its rapid development to the advent of war. Kept under strict censorship for so long, photos of radar and how it works have just been released for publication. Death and destruction to all things Japanese is plotted out in this radar room aboard an Essex class carrier. Photo was taken during operations in the China Sea in December 1944.
