Professor Marshal Mangan, a Vietnam war resister, teaches a graduate class at Althouse College at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada on March 18, 2008. In May of 1970 after being ordered from his desk job at the Pentagon to riot duty on the streets of Washington DC, Mangan decided to flee to Canada. In 1975 Mangan was discharged from the Army in an amnesty for deserters. He now holds dual citizenship (Canadian and American) and has returned to the United States many times.
