A picture taken on November 2, 2009 in Paris shows the Senators benches in the Medicis Palace, knows as Palais du Luxembourg, near the Luxembourg gardens, which houses the French Senate (upper assembly). It was the palace of Italian Marie de Medicis (1575-1662), wife of French King Henri IV. Its construction began in 1615 from designs of Salomon de Brosse.
