Thailand Plans To Mix Sinovac And AstraZeneca Shots In World-First

Thailand's Health Minister on Monday said that the country will start administering AstraZeneca's COVID-19 shot for people who had already been given a dose of the Chinese-developed Sinovac, in a world-first. The plan to mix the shots came as the delta variant of the virus rips through Southeast Asia, leading many countries in the region to report record figures over the last few weeks. According to local reports, a Thai study revealed that over 600 medical workers who had been vaccinated with a two-shot regime of the Sinovac vaccine had contracted the virus, raising doubts about its long-term efficacy.
