Admiral Jorge Manuel Nobre de Sousa Takes Over As Chief Of Staff Of The Portuguese Navy

LISBON, PORTUGAL - DECEMBER 27: Outgoing Chief of Staff Navy Admiral Henrique Gouveia e Melo embraces Admiral Jorge Manuel Nobre de Sousa at the end of the ceremony, presided by Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa and Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro, in which the latter took over as Chief of Staff of the Navy in Belem Presidential Palace on December 27, 2024, in Lisbon, Portugal. Admiral Nobre de Sousa joined the Navy in September 1981 and held the position of Naval Commander since January 2022. He was commander of the Álvares Cabral frigate, Chief of Staff of the Naval Command, served in the Planning Division of the Navy General Staff and was also commander of the Marine Corps.
