Online gaming disorder rural children addicted to Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG)

GHORAGACCHA VILLAGE, NADIA, WEST BENGAL, INDIA - JANUARY 20. Oblivious of the surroundings this group of children indulge in online gaming sitting on broken down rickshaw. Children from the village of Ghoragaccha are seen here addicted to an online internet based game named Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), developed by a South Korean company this online game is causing huge screen addiction among teenagers in India. On January 20, 2020 in this largely rural are children were seen using smart phones and cheap internet data children and even adults often spend 8-12 hours playing this game. The World Health Organisation (WHO) calls this a `gaming disorder" and the world over some 400 million people are hooked to this multi-player game and wasting away. There are 120 million PUBG users in India alone and the game is attractive since players can chat online using voice even as the game is on so it seems one is among friends, even though they may be lonely in a crowd.
