LEBANON-VOTE-LAHOUD

Lebanese President Emile Lahoud votes in his country's parliamentary elections in his hometown of Baabdat 27 August 2000. Lahud told journalists this was the first time he was able to vote in elections as before becoming president he spent his entire career as an officer. Officers are banned from voting for fear that they would be an automatic support for pro-government candidates.
