Construction Work On Turnpike

(Original Caption) 3/22/1956-Lawrence, KS: Here's concrete evidence that Kansas motorists soon will travel in high, wide and handsome style. With spring just arriving, paving has resumed on the 236-mile Kansas Turnpike after a four-month winter lay off. Work began on a stretch eight miles east of Lawrence. Due to be completed and open for traffic in October, the highway runs from the Missouri border to the Oklahoma border.
