KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT: Kuwaiti Justice Minister Ahmad Baqer speaks during a parliamentary session in Kuwait City 10 January 2005. The Gulf emirate's Islamist justice minister was questioned in parliament for alleged constitutional and legal violations and financial irregularities. The request to question Baqer, a member of the Islamic Salafi Alliance, was submitted last month by Kuwaiti MP Jamal al-Omar, who is accusing the minister of allowing the Public Authority for Minors Affairs (PAMA) to invest in companies which trade in pork and accept interest, both outlawed under Islamic law.
