ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLANDS, INDIA - 2002/03/01: A Jarawa family sits in the forest beside the embers of a dying fire. The Jarawas, a tribe of small negroids genetically similar to the South African bushmen, live on the Andaman Islands, an archipelago stretching between Burma and Indonesia in the middle of the Bay of Bengal (Indian Ocean).
Journalists and outsiders are normally forbidden from entering the forest area where they live. The Jarawas, who live very basic hunter and gatherer lifestyles, are often agressive towards outsiders.. (Photo by Thierry Falise/LightRocket via Getty Images)
