Ukraine - Lvov - Zill

Houses and apartments in the centre of the Ukrainian city of Lvov reflected on the bonnet of an old Soviet made Zill car. The city of Lvov, known as Lviv in Ukrainian, suffered comparatively-little destruction during World War 2 and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its historical architecture. Ukraine was a republic within the former Soviet Union which broke away from the USSR and formed its own sovereign state in August 1991 although the eastern half of the country still maintained close links with Russia.
