Gwyneth Dunwoody - British Politician
Gwynwth Dunwoody (1930-2008), British politician, 19th July 2001. Dunwoody came from a long line of Labour party loyalists and both of her grandmothers were suffragettes. She herself was a staunch supporter of the Labour party, but was nonetheless respected as an independent parliamentarian and moderate socialist, not always toeing the party line. She was a Member of Parliament from 1966 until her death, serving just two constituencies, in Exeter and Crewe, and held several Shadow Cabinet Secretary positions.
