Greenpeace activists chained themselves

Greenpeace activists chained themselves to a railway line on January 25, 2010 near the ferry terminal in Cherbourg, western France, to prevent the arrival of a train carrying uranium to be loaded on a cargo ship for Russia. Thirty demonstrators, members of the environmental organization, but also leftist parties Europe Ecology and NPA, and Sortir du Nucleaire network, built a barrage of metal cans bearing the nuclear symbol. (Placard reads "Russia is not a dustbin"). AFP PHOTO / JEAN-PAUL BARBIER (Photo credit should read JEAN-PAUL BARBIER/AFP via Getty Images)
