Spring's First Warm Wind Blows In Tokyo

TOKYO, JAPAN - FEBRUARY 17: Foreign tourists walk through brisk winds at Shibuya crossing on February 17, 2017 in Tokyo, Japan. The Japan Meteorological Agency formally announced that "haru-ichiban," the first warm spring wind, had blown in the Hokuriku and Kanto regions. The JMA defines haru-ichiban as the first strong warm wind from the south that comes between "risshun," the first day of spring under the lunar calendar that usually comes in early February, and the vernal equinox, around March 20. Temperatures also rose in many parts of Japan to levels normally seen in late April. Central Tokyo recorded a temperature of 20.2 degrees. (Photo by The Asahi Shimbun via Getty Images)
