(Original Caption) Dr.Samuel Sheppard holds up a poster announcing his debut in professional wrestling, to be held August 9. The match will be held in Waverly, Ohio, and proceeds will go to the Pike County Cancer Society. Sheppard (whose name is misspelled in the poster) was released from the Ohio Penitentiary in 1964 after serving 10 years for the slaying of his first wife, Marilyn, on the basis that his first trial was unfair. Sheppard now works as a general practitioner in Gahanna, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus, and says his wrestling career will not interfere with his medical practice.
