Judenbad (mikvah) in Friedberg
Column at the Judenbad, or Jewish Bath, in Friedberg, Germany, 13 April 2013. Built in 1260 in what used to be Friedberg's Jewish quarter. This mikvah lies 25 meters below street level. Friedberg once housed a prosperous Jewish community that was totally wiped out during World War II. The Judenbad (Jewish bath) houses a memorial to the fallen local Jewish soldiers who fought for Germany during WWI. The mikvah, the old synagogue arson memorial, and a plaque are all waht is left.
