(Original Caption) Chicago, IL- A motorcade escorts William Howard Taft (center car), waving his hat to the crowd, through Chicago during the Republican National Convention of 1908, when he won the prasidential nomination. He went on to win the election, becoming the 27th President of the United States. Forty-four years later, Chicago is again the scene of the GOP convention, and Taft's son, Sen. Robert A. Taft, is embroiled in the struggle for the nomination.
