Three months ago, a devastating truck bomb reduced the Marriott Hotel in the Pakistani capital Islamabad to a charred shell. On December 28, the fortress-like complex will reopen its doors to guests. A suicide bomber rammed a truck packed with 600 kilogrammes (1,300 pounds) of high explosives into the outer gates of the Marriott on September 20, killing at least 60 people and wounding another 260.
