Bisimwa Hardy, 22, a father of two, who has been working in the Luhihi artisanal mine for seven months to support the needs of his family, carries a rock at the mine, 50 km from the city of Bukavu, capital of South Kivu province in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, on November 6, 2021. - In a well more than 70 meters deep, Hardy brings a bag full of stones to the surface to take them to the crusher to separate the stone from the gold.
