"Allegorical Scene (Scena allegorica), by Costantino Cedini, c. 1775, 18th Century, fresco Italy, Veneto, Padua, Palazzo Maldura. Whole artwork view. Fresco on the ceiling with some parts missing because of deterioration; the scene represents a lots of figures, some of whom winged, some not; several figures gather on the top of Mount Olympus; among them, can be recognized Mercury down on the right, between two sides of scraped fresco, and Apollo on his chariot on the top of the mount, while above on the right can be seen Neptune's trident; in the middle of this chaos, a peacock does cartwheels, undisturbed; above on the left is represented a white arch which is told to represent the Milky Way, referring to the myth of Phaeton who asked his father Apollo the permission to drive the Sun's chariot.
