Indian Officials Carry Ashes of Gandhi

(Original Caption) 2/19/1948-Allahabad, India- High Indian officials carry the ashes of Mohandas K. Gandhi from the train at Allahabad to the flower-decked truck which carried the urn to the sacred Jumna and Ganges Rivers for the final immersion ceremony over the mythical Saraswathi, holiest spot of Hinduism.
