The Death of John Wilkes Booth - stock illustration
Vintage illustration features the death of John Wilkes Booth on April 26, 1865, twelve days after his assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. Booth took refuge in a tobacco barn until Union troops found him and lit the barn on fire after a standoff. As he emerged, Booth was shot in the neck by Union soldier Boston Corbett.
